Surplus stores in Vernon BC?

Surplus Herby's is still in Vernon (3325 31st St)... Kelowna is just their head office. Used to get cool chit there when I completed GMT in '90. Del Selins is a pretty cool gun store in Vernon.
 
Well as for an old school surplus store, there really isn't anything in Vernon to speak of. Del Selin has some surplus firearms hanging from his ceiling, in his pistol case and on his rifle rack. He also carries surplus ammo and has some surplus bayonets.

Surplus Herbies is more of a Big Box style store where they sell items from close out sales and damaged goods from insurance/shipping companies. They also have a pretty decent fishing equipment selection that covers most venues of the sport. They do have a few milsurp items but mostly in the form of ruck sacks and pouches. They may have some used milsurp shoes and a few clothes but very limited supplies. There was a time when it was like taking a walk back in history but those days are long gone. Not many well stocked old time military surplus stores left anywhere anymore.

I don't know where it all goes now. Likely the stores back east buy it all up from the depots there. A lot of stuff gets destroyed even if it is unused from rumor but I can't verify that.
 
True, Surplus Herbies has about 5% surplus stuff if that - some gas masks, folding shovels, packs, ammo cans, clothes, boots - I think it's down to one small isle.
