Anyone know where to get non corosive surpluss ammo in 7.62 for a norinco m305 or some good cheap ammo thanks
 
Good Cheap does not associate with 7.62 as does surplus.

You will be paying a buck a round or close.

Any surplus is what you have in your basement.
 
A guy at the range wants to sell me a case of Czech made 308 from 1976. It is in a green box. He does not know if its non-corrosive. Does anyone know?

Henry Nierychlo for surplus, but corrosive, dont know of non corrosive surplus.

frontierfirearms or Henry again for steel case mfs, non corrosive

cheapest brass case i could find was theammosource but i think they are sold out of priv now.

or start reloading.
 
Yup, it's fine for plinking... just make sure you clean your rifle normally after you get home from shooting. Don't leave it too long.

Other guys clean with boiling water or windex.. i use gunzilla.
 
Don't worry about the boiling water, just give it a good cleaning after you shoot, don't forget the gas assembly, i have been shooting corrosive ammo for a few years now and never had rusting problems using normal cleaning methods....
 
I clean after each range trip, and having recently taken Hungry's course I think I can strip it down far enough to clean the gas system. I assume $400 for 1000 rounds is a good deal?
 
corrosive ammo is not THAT bad... Its dirty, but also cheep. I have burned through about 3500 rounds of surplus X39 ammo with one of my sks's. Only had an issue once when i didnt bother cleaning it right away. The words cheep and 308 dont work togeather lol, but if you look you can find prices far better then what you see at Cambodian Tire or a few of the sporting good stores.

Clean it as you would normally - right after you get home.

IDK if you know this (and for those who don't), but the powder, case, and bullet themselves aren't corrosive, it's the primer mixture that is.

The Warsaw Pact countries used corrosive primers in their ammo because of the reliability of ignition in extremely cold weather.
 
I think much of the problem has to do with how much Non corrosive 308 surplus we all see on the american sites . like christ they have winchester white box 7.62 nato production , they have south African , German , Portuguese , Linked 308 box ammunition . Indian , whatever they want they get while we have to scrounge just to get under a $1.rnd for .308 let alone 7.62 surplus produces a misconception .

I think SFRC was looking at some 7.62 surplus 168 grain stuff , he also has what the US calls Silver Bear aka MFS
