Bought a Ruger American 45 ACP couple weeks ago and finally tried it today. Very impressed with it overall, especially the accuracy. Awesome sights and recoil is very pleasant with zero climb. Good ergonomics, the optional grips make a big difference in how the gun feels. I have owned Colts, Sigs and have shot Glocks, I would say for the money ($628) this thing is will be hard to beat.

Similar Ruger experience. I bought a Ruger 9E (cheaper version of the SR9) a year ago and that series of handguns have become my favourite. I paid $425ish for that firearm and in my hands it outshoots anything I own or have owned. It's a must try for anyone with small hands and the trigger is one of the better ones out there.
