I thought I should add a story which shows a bit of Finnish attitude. At the Canadian International Sniper Concentration years ago, Lapua engineer "Janne P" wanted to take a picture of the bronze soldier statue outside the CFB Gagetown main building. I parked in front and Janne was lying down with camera and head below the window in the back seat. When I told him to get out and take a proper picture, he replied that in Finland if you are caught with a camera on a military base you go directly to jail. When we toured the museum he stood at attention before the anti-tank weapons Panzerfaust and Panzerschreck, as he said they were used to stop the Russians from taking over our country.
Today there is not even a guard house at the base entrance.
Regards,
Peter
