Sustenance Hunt

It looks like that video was taken near were I live, by arcola. I know the Sask outdoors guys are from around Weyburn area, and one is from Regina.

And there was some illegal actions taken there, they should of called the C.O.'s on them.......

In my book, that's not sustenance hunting. It's trophy hunting. Shooting over a road, not impressive. The standing shots from that distance... Suuuurrreee they'll hit something. By ACCIDENT!

Given the choice between a cow or 2, and one bull, give me the cows! More tender meat, easier to clean per animal, easier to haul out per animal. That & maybe it's just me, but I've never really liked "horn soup".

L

Another example of the BS going on under the heading of treaty rights or sustenance hunting. I guess it will stop whe there isn't another animal left.

What do you mean?
You're kidding - right?

Where in that video, other than the claims of the guys who made it, is there any PROOF of the allegations? Proof that they're Mohawk, proof they're from Ontario, proof they're trying to shoot a bull, proof it is Sunday.....

It appears to me to be nothing more than an idiot (lawbreaker?) shooting at running elk from a roadway.

Try watching it without audio.

Exactly

OR?
The whole thing could have been staged.

So, They were shooting out of season on a Sunday...
I didnt see the HD video Camera, but I did see a Digtal SLR on one of the guys... CERTAINLY they did not need to go out and kill an elk because they had no money to buy meat...
They were abusing the system, face it.

You're right Fall Guy, certain assumptions or claims shouldn't be made without proof. But, if I saw two guys merrily walking along a gravel road in plain view, on a Sunday, before hunting season....them aren't regular Joe's. The assumption that they are natives is probably a pretty good one. Assuming that they are sustenance hunters is not right, I agree with that. Even if natives, they should be tarred and feathered for flock shooting.

Ok, then try watching the RCMP taser the guy in Vancouver without video.......just audio.

They seem to have a pretty good package there with the "surveillance" video. They obviously have more info on the suspects than the video shows. I'm sure these guys weren't prepared to film a documentary. This was a chance happening that they came across.

Are you serious? Number 1, They are shooting from a roadway, which is ILLEGAL, number 2, they are not wearing full Blaze orange while hunting (which is required by Sask. laws), now natives can get away with that so they are natives or are hunting illegally. Number 3, that looks like privately owned land, which the natives would need permission to hunt on. (it is possible that they have permission)

Yes

Number 1, They are shooting from a roadway, which is ILLEGAL
See comment about idiot (lawbreaker) shooting from roadway.

number 2, they are not wearing full Blaze orange while hunting (which is required by Sask. laws), now natives can get away with that so they are natives or are hunting illegally.
Why assume they are natives, why not poachers or slob hunters who don't give a F? Where is the proof they're Mohawks from Ontario as is claimed in the clip?

Number 3, that looks like privately owned land, which the natives would need permission to hunt on. (it is possible that they have permission)
Your point then? Maybe these guys even have a tag and it is opening day and the guys who are #####in are pissed because they didn't get drawn?

Now had the video ended with Sask CO's charged John Doe of IndianReserve, Ontario with multiple violations.....

I don't care what Race of man they are or aren't, that's irrelevant.
They are Slobs at any rate and embarrass everyone with thier antics.....:(

Very rude,and uncalled for!

Perhaps, but reading his posts on this thread indicates to me that he is being very defensive, possibly because he is a native. If it was me taking the video,I would have driven down that road and videoed both people and their vehicle if it was close by.Then the video would have been turned over to fish&wildlife.
