i guess an adjustable trigger to 2.2lbs, 24 inch cold hammer forged 4 with 60 degree crown free floating bull barrel, 3 locking lug bolt, thermal setting synthetic bedding compound, and .375 to .5 moa is only a "sniper" rifle. thanks for the input.
Forgive Obtunded. I feel his pain too. Seems like lately everyone comes to the Precision Rifle forum to ask how they can turn there rifle into a sniper rifle or where they can buy a sniper rifle or how they can make there Stevens 200 with a Bushnell banner look like a sniper rifle. No snipers here, just sport/competition shooters.
I know you didn't use the code word "sniper" so Obtunded was quick on the draw to call you out so fast.
If you seriously want a SV98 look at getting a Remington 700 (not even close to Russian I know) and find a gunsmith that will install a match barrel in the caliber you want with a stock that looks or preforms the same, you will save a lot of money and time and get a gun that prolly shoots better too.
if you are a collector looking for that exact rifle, I can't really point you in the right direction, sorry. All I know about the rifle is what I read on Wikipedia and the >9000 terrorists I killed with one on Rainbow Six Vegas.
