Anybody here own or shoot any of the SVI custom handguns?
Curious to hear your feedback and where you got it/what you paid for it?
Are they truly worth the high price?
Did you find it any more accurate then the STI and other high end 1911/2011 stuff?
Is the trigger in them really nice?
Thanks.....

Yes they're worth it. I've always been a 1911 single stack guy. I've owned a nighthawk talon, a Baer Thunder Ranch Special, a Valtro, a custom Dlask, a guncrafter, STI's Para's, Colts etc etc all single stacks. I always wanted an SVI and was going to build a single stack but saw a 40 sightracker used on CGN and picked it up. I haven't looked back. It's my favourite gun to shoot. I can shoot it faster and more accurately than any of my other guns. I was thinking of building another but really this one does all I could want it to do. Here's a pic:

Wow, that is a beautiful piece!
Thanks for the feedback. I've looked all over and there doesn't seem to be any around anywhere. SVIs website says 15-18 month lead time to get one too.....was hoping to find a used one for sale somewhere but that now seems like a faint hope. Guess I will just bite the bullet, so to speak, and wait the year and order one...

I have an older SV that was sent back to SV to be rebuilt with new grips........I ordered a fully decked out single stack 1911, with 9mm and 40 top ends, eta Jan 2015.......and my wife is going to order an SV for standard use........nuff said......they are pricey for a reason. VERY accurate, reliable, and smooth (once you get 2000 rounds through them, which is a weekend for me....lol).....go get one! Simply put, they are the best.

I have always thought they looked really nice. speaking of tv, anyone notice the one colin Farrell totes as crockett in Miami vice movie?

I have heard from some gunsmiths that they are not as well built or reliable as their sti counterparts. but don't blame me, im just a parrot!

Really? "some gunsmiths" state SV's are not well built? I own STIs and SV's, love them both, but SV to STI in my opinion is sort of like Bugatti to Mercedes.......

Wonder if some of those gunsmiths are the same that state Norc's can be tweaked to be just as good as an STI......

I have a SVI Sight Tracker 5 inch, with the AET barrel, in .40 S&W. It is the best handgun I have ever handled. Fit and finish are exquisite and the gun is scary accurate and very reliable. I took delivery of it in November 2012 after waiting 14 months, and it cost a pretty penny. However, it was worth the wait and the money.
I use it for IPSC and for bullseye shooting.
They are not many around because not many people are willing to pay that much for a handgun and to wait that long to get it, but also because the company cannot produce them in large numbers, since each gun is built to order according to the clients specifications (so many options their "gunbuilder" program, to which people may add special instructions).
