SVT $329 special @ Trade Ex?

That is cheap. Dang, I wish I wasn't getting a milsurp handgun.

Wait, I AM happy I'm getting a handgun. Must... resist... the urge... to... get... everything...

If anyone gets one and wants to repair the "crack" as mentioned on Tradeex's page: my advice is use west epoxy system glue.

Tradex has the most seductive website in Canada, better than most anywhere in fact. The buggers have cost me big time. :p

That looks like a good deal for anyone who has modest woodworking skills. The SVT-40 has a weak stock design in the wrist, and cracks are no surprise. If only cracked, the crack can be opened up and injected with a strong glue like epoxy. If the stock has movement at the crack, the addition of a hardwood dowel would be advised. I don't know how many they have, but if a few, it would be helpful for anyone with experience in repairing an SVT-40 stock to share it.

Andy, if you buy me a SVT, I'll gladly take numerous pics of the repair process :D

Well, tis the season for giving isn't it? :p

Kidding aside, if anyone in Ottawa ends up with one and is unsure about which step to take to fix the stock, I'm always glad to have milsurp visitors drop by.

A generous offer - thanks!

I have a better idea that's quicker and cheaper. Since you've already offered to do the fix, take one of your own rifles, break it across the wrist and then repair it. It might be best to do two or three just to refine the process and get some variety. :p
