Svt 38

Is this maybe because a member has two for sale???

I asked the seller for a price and he wants offers, as a result I might not put in a "bid".

I know what a fair price would be, especially knowing how the seller aquired the rifles. I also know what collector prices would be, but I suggest you do your own research.

A 40 goes for around 280-300, I'd add maybe 50 bucks more, thats my opinion. As for the rarity factor, who's to say there aren't 100's in closets or attics just waiting for the light of day. Guess I better put the flame-resistant suit on! :p

Honestly, there is not way on this earth I would pay over $700 for an SVT38 - the collector market in Canada just isn't there to support more. In the US, maybe - but not up here.

YMMV.

Agreed. Find 5 people actually willing to put up $700. Lots of talkers, less doers. Lol.

I see where you are coming from but they are indeed MUCH more rare then the average refurb SVT40s we see here. Personally, I would add about 300-400 more without thinking for a matching SVT38 - and maybe even more depending on a solid value being determined. Like a few have mentioned, the collecting base isnt as strong here as it is in the US. If I had some spare cash I would make an offer/trade.

Claven2, you have the guy pegged wrong, he really does want to trade his svt 38 for your $1800-$3000 collectible Winchester. just check his website. O , does that make him a dealer?

If you want to purchase a pair of SVT38's through a dealer, there's one in the Ottawa area with a web site. Unfortunately, I can't hotlink to their site because they're not a sponsor...

Yes, I think you might be right.

Considering that your cash offer has been declined, perhaps the seller would prefer a trade. Might I suggest you offer an old milsurp or perhaps a crappy Mossberg shotgun? Any chance you have a Cooey single shot 22 available? Or maybe offer to trade for a highball at his/her bar of choice?
