I have a SVT-40 that has a slam fire problem. I'm sure it's because of cosmo in the bolt. Does anyone have any directions on how to disassemble the bolt? Or should I just soak the thing in varsol or something. If I just let it soak how would I lightly oil it again? I wouldn't want the insides of the bolt rusting because they no longer have any oil.

I know how to strip my SVT. I'm talking about removing the firing pin and cleaning out the firinging pin/firing pin channel
Easy, at the rear of bolt,drift out the cross pin and after you can remove the firing pin. The extractor can be removed by pushing it rearward a bit and pulling it from the bolt,that can take a fews try to disengage the extractor . My bolt is free off oil since manys years and no rust, just strip it from time to time to inspect. Hope that help
