SVT-40 buying advice?

Does anyone ever see the svt's with a matching stamped trigger group? Most of the ones ive seen are electropenciled.

From what I've seen, and I'm new to this, nearly all the SVT40's for sale are refurbs and they have been forced matched. Some have plum/black/gold bolts and others are white as issued.
I want a white bolt even though its still a forced matched refurb. Personal preference and I don't want to be the guy who takes the blueing off his plum bolt SVT40.
I would think a Finn capture non-refurb would command a premium price.

How do I contact this Weimajack person? I searched for the user name and could not find it. If I have a choice is a particular year better than another?

He has multiple postings in the EE milsurp section. Saw he posted some more SKS's lately. Some years/manufacturers are rarer than others. Late war 44/45 are harder to come by as I understand it, but I'm no expert.

I've got my SVT40 and it looks pretty good, but the bore is dark. And running a brush through it is a totally different experience than running a brush through my Sako .375. It even sounds nasty!
Anyway, do I need to run 1000 patches through to get it white patch clean? Or should I just brush it a few times and run some patches through it and go shooting? I've read that carb cleaning works good on old milsurp barrels and I may try that.
The rifling seems ok and still deep.

^^^What he said.....that is how I tackled the SVT I just got from Weimajack....came out pretty nice.

I got mine from Weimajack also. I'm also in Regina.
Where did you buy your foaming cleaner? I was at Wholesale the other day and they had nothing, not even a .30 cal jag.
What a great store.....

I have just about had it with WSS myself...I had bought some Gunslick foaming cleaner in the states when I was down...I know Northern Rod had some Wipeout the last time I was there. They don't give it away but that stuff is the cats azz to clean a barrel with...Had lots of black grimy goo come out of the old SVT-40.

I bought some of that wipe out and it really worked well. I have let it sit overnight as recommended and will have another look today. The bore is 3x as bright now. The amount of blue on the patches was more than I have even seen.
