Svt-40 firing 2 round burst

Man oh man, are you guys doing all you can to see the SVT40 coming under the RCMP microscope and their wild hAss interpretations with this thread and statements therein ??

I have the tool and im 100% sure overgassing is not the issue. I actually started down to 1.2 gas setting. Rifle cycle fine recoil is pleasant its really great other than the 2 shot going at once. Got up to 1.3, same issue. Went up to 1.5 and now it wont pickup the next round but the sear does reset since it goes clic.

As for the one saying to get it fix, thats what i want but i have no gunsmith in town so im looking here first as a first try if i can narrow down to a faulty part and switch it.

could be "hot" ammo. I had an SVT that would do doubletaps often using a certain case of (I think 1966 Chinese) ammo. At one point it pushed so hard the push rod unseated, went up and broke the handguard. Got things back together, tuned the gas port and it did it again. With different ammo it never seemed to repeat though. P'd me off though, condition / price went way down when I sold it because the handguard was all cracked.
