svt 40 mag

Are you guys interested in SVT 40 parts, we were just offered few SVT 40 parts only rifles from Polish Military school. They are basically drill rifles. All parts are good except barrels that are welded shut, plus stocks are crap but the rest is in good condition

I would be interested if the price was right.

Received mine today. Very good quality, does indeed look NOS.

Fit in rifle perfectly, fed all but last round (manually working action), I filed/buffed feed lips and feed ramp now we're 100%. Total time investment: 5 mins.

I will say that although it was literally dripping in oil and cosmoline, there was rust on the bottom of the follower and the tip of the follower spring. Very light surface rust, but for those of you who got them it might be worth taking a peek and spraying a bit of G96 up in there. :)

Thank you Corwin Arms, and it was even delivered on a pseudo holiday :)

Had time to test fit mine and found the same, last round binds trying to clear the feed lips. Should be pretty easy to bend open or file the lips a touch, comparing to the mag it came with you can see the new ones have tighter lips. Fit is great on both mags with both rifles. Super happy with these new mags Martin.

I should mention I also removed 1/4 of the spring, I compared the new one to the one I have and the new one was insanely stiff, and only feeding 5 rounds I figure a softer spring should help (and it did). I bent the feed lip on the one side up a bit to get at it with the file and the buffer, then tapped it back down flush with the round. It's not as smooth as my original, but it feeds all 5 rounds and should work itself in with a bit of use.

The inside of the feed lips are definitely a little sharp. Knurling tool fixed that with about 10 mins of work. The fit was a bit tight but some slight trimming of the rear lugs yielded a proper fit. Some breaking in at the range will wear it in nicely and should function as well as the Russian original.

Again, thank you Corwin Arms for bringing these in!

Thanks for the spring tip Somerset! That made a big difference for the good but it still won't feed. The rear of the mag sits almost 2mm lower than the Russian original. I've gotten as much as I can from adjusting the lips. The problem is the snap in lugs as seen in the pic. Russian on left, new one on right. Visible are the grinding marks where someone took material off the bottom. To fit mine that material needs to be put back there and a bit taken off the top. It'll work, just need to find someone local to tack a bit of steel in there.

Picked up my mag on Saturday... but with our winter festival in full swing I had no time to go out and test it.

It looks and feels really good. I will compare it to my three other WWII vintage mags and post pics of all of them tonite.

I'm looking forward to some time off later in February so I can go to the range and give it a whirl !!

Post a pic with a round in each. If the new one has the round sitting lower that would be the problem, work on the lip at the rear of the mag, where it hits the back wall (where the rim of the cartridge touches). I -almost- guarantee that the lugs are okay if the mag fits in the gun (if it won't seat at all, that's a lug issue). Basically, copy the one that works. (my lugs are off from the original too).

Tuned my magazine last night, it had to be opened up a bit. Tight fit with no side to side play (the original had some side movement).

Circle 11 dated 1960. Feeds manually, but had to smooth the feed lips too.

It would be better to call them anyway
thought I'd ask here as well it's because this thread they brought some in

Too bad you live in Bantario. He hits every gun show in the western provinces, as far as I can tell, and this is exactly the kind of thing that he'll set a few aside of for gun shows.
