SVT-40 or SKS?

Someone told me that Marstar had or has surplus 7.62x54R. Gov't B.S. ? Why ? I am sure Marstar can deal with that they just have to know what Gov't wants.

They can and do on a regular basis. According to Johnone (Marstar) the good folks at the Fed simply aren't inclined to allow it. I don't know the details (not like my knowing would make a lick of difference) but I would expect that as our primary importer John would have a pretty clear idea of what's going on.

When it is released we may shoot it. :D

They are out summer time maybe they will get it again.

I might have some, but not at those prices. Those are limited in quantity. Mossin on another hand widly available. :)

I picked a few up at those prices :D. I paid a fair amount more than that a few months ago for my SVT-40 rifles. I couldn't turn down the $300 price. I've been doing my part to safe guard the SVT-40 history ;). Recently it seems like my gun cabinet is turning into a SVT-40 shrine :p

Don't know where this question comes from. We are talking two entirely different rifles. Buy one of each and use them. I did...

Maybe the OP can only afford one new rifle, and his favored options are the SKS and SVT? The "buy both" response always sounds silly, unless of course you are trying to be silly?:D

I'd like both of these rifles too, and eventually I might get one of each. First one will be the SKS though, lower cost and availability of ammo being the deciding factor.
