A few pics of my SVT-40. A non refurb old lady now retired...
Still looking for an original WWII mount scope!

Good photos. Looks like its been around the block, looking at the stock. I haven't seen the little notch at the top/back of the receiver, is that for a scope?

That's awesome. Finn capture, grooves and notch for scope, and a freakin bayonet. Too bad about the crack in the wrist of the stock. Have you entertained the possibility of putting it in an AVT stock to keep it functional?

I will have a look on that little crack. I guess that it can be corrected by a professionnal quite easily.

If you do have someone repair the stock please make sure he understands to leave the rest of it alone. Hate to see the guy thinking he's doing you a favour, touch it up, and remove any markings.

Putting it into another stock might be worthwhile to preserve the one you have.

Just gorgeous! I bet your SVT have been quite busy in the old days I also hunt for a original scope mount for my 1941 sniper,extremely scarce item and cost a fortune for 1 in usable rusted cond.... But we never know what we can find,still hoping.

To fix that crack Lee Valley has some glues that would probably do the job. Thus you could fix it yourself and save the money of taking it to someone else.

Both are of low viscosity, so they will flow into the crack

Thank you, Cdn! Very good tip... I will order and test that glue. It should be perfect for this little crack.

Really cool rifle, you don't see many non refurbs at all anymore.

Is it me, or do the receiver and stock serial numbers not match anyway? Maybe the Finns swapped out the stock in the field?

I have used Gorilla "Super Glue" to fix some stocks. If you have a syringe it is the best. Fill, use a clamp (use pads to protect the stock) and once done carefully remove any excess glue.

This is a bit of a painstacking process, but the repair will be strong and hardly noticable.
I am sure Lee glues would work too.
