Hey guys just wondering the Value of SVT-40's these days. I have a good-excellent condition 1941 that has been sitting in my safe not being used. Bore is nice with good rifling... I was thinking of looking for a polish m44 or Russian m38 and want to know where I'd stand value wise.

So far, so good! It has the scope grooves and it must be a regular SVT stock instead of an AVT stock. And it has the 6 port Brake and folding sling mount.
Could you take a picture of the bore?

Remember only positive comments please guys. I know it's in better shape then most svt's I've seen. It's prob gonna be up for sale or trade soon so I don't need any bad press

Got ya. I only have a cell phone camera. So prob won't be able to get the greatest shot of the bore. The rifling is still sharp. A little frosting but nothing serious. It shoots great and is pretty dam accurate for what I've done with it.

Very good! Many SVT's seem to get offered in the $400 to $450 range right now. Those with something wrong, get offered for $250, while those
that are in some way special, get offered for more than $500 all the way up to $2000 for a sniper. There are more Want to Buy ads in the
Equipment Exchange right now than there are SVT's on offer.

Oh ok awesome!! I kinda figured it would be around there value wise. The ones I have seen at gun shows recently look terrible.
Now just to get ee access so I can look for some trades. I've been dying to find a like new polish m44. I recently passed on a nice used one at a gun show for $330.

The scope groves make it worth more. I'm really not sure with the chrome bolt, but if everything checks out (serial numbers match, bore is not pitted) i'd say your rifle would be worth $500.

Ya all numbers match except the mag but I think thats pretty common with these. There is no pitting at all in the bore at all I wish I had some light and a camera to get a pic for ya guys!!
