Know all about the "enormous feeding issues" with the plastic mags. I have a 20-minute video around here somewhere that I shot at a rifle match on a certain Army base a number of years ago. In one 20-minute match, poor troopie spent 18-1/2 minutes clearing jams and misfeeds.
M-14, MG-42, Kar98k, SKSs, Klacks, Thompsons, BAR, C1A1, FAL, Lee-Enfields..... all worked just fine.
Solution to the plastic mag problem? Run 'em through the Minimi first: it shaves the whole top off them, then you can throw them away and use the old steel ones.
Finally, the guys in the office caught on.
