Svt-40

If you set your gas regulator up a notch you should get rid of the extraction/ejection issues. Mine throws brass about 20 feet.
I was told that before and am going to try that next time. It's been at 1.3 since I bought it and initially I shot Czech surplus, which did not have extraction problems at all. When I switched to Polish, it started. She's never thrown further than 2 feet straight above though.

don't get me wrong, I love my SVT, the only little issue is it eats the brass. Speaking of adjusting the gas regulator, is there a special tool for it, or what does everyone use?

There is a special 5 sided wrench for this, but I don't have one. I just remove the top handguard and loosen the fitting that the piston fits into with a regular box end wrench. When it's loose you can adjust the regulator with your fingers.

Make sure that the regulator doesn't spin when you tighten the fitting up, and you're good to go.

There is no need for a special tool. Take down the handguard, unscrew the gas chamber, gently knock out the regulator and put it back in matching desired number to the notch.
