Hello, I have an svt-40. I truthfully think it's an AVT-40. All numbers matching, dual cut-outs for auto/ semi lever selector. Star and 1943 stamped on top of breech, star and capital A stamped on right side on stock, plumed bolt. Auto sear removed. Very limited info on internet about AVT-40. Would like to cross reference serial number to prove its an AVT. No electropencilling serial numbers just factory stamping. Right side of breech stamping of capital P inside diamond, K inside circle, diamond or square inside circle, and nothing more. Left side of breech has nothing more than serial number plus serial number under bolt, underside of bolt lever, bottom of trigger guard, leftside of stock--full serial number lengthwise and just numbers sidewise. Nothing at all stamped on clip. Plus I have two factory packages of ammo wrapped in waxed paper tied in string, plus about another 50 or so loose steel nosed ammo. Factory sling on gun with fixed front barrel band swivel. Two slot muzzel brake. Light colored hardwood stock. Gun came from USA about 15-20 years ago. Would like all info I can get about rifle. What is it's value? It will be for sale once I can get honest price for what I can get for it.

My fire select lever completely swings both ways, and the lever itself is solid, meaning there is no hole in it like all other select levers i've seen. I might have to take gun to expect gunsmith to have it taken apart to prove the internal mechanism is the avt-40. I haven't had rifle a month.

Mine made in 1943 all numbers match. I'm new here so they won't let my post pictures. My e-mail address is matthewrobicheau@yahoo.ca so you e-mail me and I can reply with pictures. D

Follow the link bearmaz provided for info on how to do it.

If you still cant post any pics you can send them to me in an email and I will put them on here if you want.

LOL, I realized something the numbers on this gun is the same four last numbers as my work phone number. That is crazy. Under the RCMP website, the list of prohibited weapons is being revised.

Didn't know this is Prohibited. It's just a semi-auto rifle.

Any rifle that started life as a full-auto, regardless of whether it's been modified to semi or not is prohibited. The only difference is what prohibited category it's in. You'd better hope yours is an SVT...

If its an AVT-40 it was both semi and full auto. Full auto sear removed. So now no auto. Still have the semi auto. So i guess if its a AVT-40 sell it to americians and many some money. if not I still have a svt-40 for sale.
