Heads up for anyone looking for a SVT 40, bought one today at Whole Sale Sports in Calgary for 249.99. Guy behind the counter said he had a few.

Just wanted to let everyone know.

ALSO, such a nice gun, a bit tricky taking apart and putting back together, almost lost a eye a few times!
 
Just got one from Winnipeg Wholesale on Monday. Nice 42 Tula in an AVT stock, no wood repair and strong rifling. Mags are pinned/blocked nicely too, no external marks unlike the Frankenpin SKSs they're carrying.

Too freaking bad I got other things going on and am desperately low on cash... my firearm budget is in the minus right now... a svt, mosin and a 880 crate would be sweet...:(...I hope there stik be available a decent price wen I get the cash
 
on another note just today I saw two SVT 40 one for 649.00 and the other 629.00. I believe one had the scope rails. It was a small shop in a small town and everything was waaaayyy overpriced. I had been looking at SVT'S in Edmonton for 299??ish not 20 minute earlier at milarm and P&D.

In Winnipeg they've got a pile of Czech surplus, $269 for 880 in spam cans. Pretty decent price and no shipping to pay. Canada Ammo has the Chinese for a little cheaper but I'll take Czech over China any day!
