Hey folks. I got my rifle today and it would appear my mosin has an SVT scope on it. Does anyone know the history / background on svt scopes on mosin rifles?
From the limited research I've done - it appears the svt pu was marked "cb" on the elevation turret to indicate the calibration was done for the length of the mosin barrel.
when the SVT was no longer made in sniper configuration, the soviet took the remaining scope, changed the calibration for the most part and put them on PU mount. The SVT scope production ended in 1943.

I am ordering two specifically for the SVT scopes and I hope mine do not have the CB marking. If they do and someone wants a CB marking and wants to trade for their uncalibrated scope, I would be up to it.
I hope to use the SVT scopes to finish off my SVT snipers.
I ordered a third rifle with a standard PU scope to keep as is.
SVT scopes are worth $500 so why not pay $150 more for the rifle and original PU mount.
