I bought a crate of 'czech' surplus 7.62x54r ammo for my mosin and svt. After solving my ejection issues with the svt(basically gas to 1.5) i noticed that approximately 1 in about 5-6 rounds misfired.

The misfired rounds had one thing in common...the primer pushed into the casing whereas on the fired rounds the primer stays perfectly flat and flush with the casing.

The ammo is.copper washed and marked 61/67. If anyone can attest to this ammunition working for them in their svt please do; otherwise, buyer beware.

Stuck with 700 more :(

Did it come in a green crate with a blue S&B tag? If so I've fire about 200 rounds out of my crate with no issues to date (knock on wood), from my Mosin and SVT.

The way I read you post is that it just misfires in your SVT. Does the firing pin move freely? Is the spring damaged? Is their caked in cosmo in the channel?

I know that many users have reported misfire with czech ammo lacquered case, i dont know about copper washed ones but seems like ammos may have deteriorated a bit over time.

i might be interested in taking some off your hands and trying my luck..

Well the firing pin strikes nice on the ones that do go off but like i said, the misfire ones you can see the firing pin strike but its not as pronounced as the fired casings because the primer is literally pushed in. I will snap a picture next time i fire these.
