SVT40 available what year?

I see a lot of posts stating that the 'first batch' started arriving 5-6 years ago, where did rifles earlier than that come from is what I'm wondering. Is that just when the majority of people started getting interested in/buying them or what?

Kinda confused and curious about this as I've had mine for longer than that and can trace it back farther by a couple years but not to the original source.

They're referring to the most recent batches. They've been coming in for as long as anything else has. First one I can remember seeing was in Calgary in the 80s and they were here long before that I'm sure. Century got their start in Canada before moving South.

Globe firearms was bringing in finn captured SVTs in the 70s, but they destroyed them all.
By destroyed I meant bubba'd

Globe sportered thousands and converted a lot to .303 . they were all SA marked back in the day.
