Hi guys,

I need some help. Ok, heres whats up. I got a neat .303 british semi-auto lately. Its based on the SVT40 receiver/gas system, and was made by Globe firearms in the 50's/60's in Canada here. I really want to scope it, and found an awesome home made scope mount on E-bay that consisted of a SVT40 dust cover with a Leupold base and rings attached to it. It was exactly what I was looking for. I followed the auction for 6 days, then was getting ready to snipe it ;-) and placed my bid in the last 8 seconds.... Well at the next screen a flipping ITAR warninfg comes up and I read the first bit and clicked OK and sure enough the auction had ended and I lost it! The stupid ITAR screen made me loose the auction..... My primary shipping addy is in the US, so I didnt expect to see that.... I wont go any more into this as it just angers me to the point i could get a ban here if I go off.... :-( ARRRGGGGG.

So... what Im needing is a used SVT 40 dust cover, or any info as to where I can find one? I want to build my own scope base for the rifle, but I really dont want yo use the one on the rifle, as its in new condition, its perfect, so Id like to save it as I dont want to drill/weld on it.

can anyone help me find one here so I can attempt to make a quality mount for my new find?

Thanks for your time!

ginnz.

Stay away from mounting scope mount on the dustcover, I tried it it is OK for red dot but normal scope was dancing around within 8MOA at 100m. Dust cover moves around a bit. Check if your gun has scope groves on the side if yes just contact us otherwise see the link provided by Beater it shoes few practical ways to put scope on SVT 40
