Ok so, it happened to me twice while shooting today... I shot about 80 rounds. Using military surplus...

It would get stuck about half a mm back. Not be able to eject further, we had to use a block of wood and hammer to get it to open up and pull out the empty casing...

We noticed no difference in the casings. Im thinking either it is head spacing or the gas system is not chambering a new round hard enough to seat it all the way in. Then firing, ballooning a little and being stuck and unable to eject.

It never did it on first shot usually on a second or third. Has any one else had issues like this ?

Mine did exactly that from time to time. Then I got my gas system wrench in, dialed it up one notch to 1.5, and it hasn't happened since.

What's your gas regulator set at?? I had all kinds of FTE problems with Russian surplus ammo when mine was set on 1.3

Took it up to 1.5 and haven't had problems yet through another 30 rounds.

Crash course on how to adjust it without the "special tool". remove the wood covering the gas system. remove the piston and the sleeve that the piston rides in on the barrel end. then unscrew the peice that the sleeve was on. you should now be able to remove the little nut looking thing with numbers on it. be sure to see what number is facing up before you remove it. going up a digit will give more gas and going down will lower gas pressure. reinstall it with the number facing up of the pressure you want to go up to the do the reverse to put it back together.

Mine came set at 1.3, and after a few rounds that failed to eject I put it up to 1.5 and I have had no issues since. 1.5 is the way to go.

^ this guy saving the day.

If you're looking to actually get the proper tool, I grabbed mine from Corwin Arms. A touch on the pricey side, but for a full kit, with the original parts, and from a Canadian dealer? I'm not complaining.
