Hello,

I had my SVT40 to the range last Sunday and I love it.

Quick question I had and I hope no one jumps down my throat over this, but here we go.

I found the recoil to be lighter than I expected, after 150 rounds my shoulder wasn't sore at all (Muzzle break I <3 U) but I found the stock was a little shorter than I would like, what are some suggestions to increase the LoP? I considered a slide-on recoil pad even with the light recoil, but I don't know what would fit the SVT40, does anyone have a suggestion?

Thanks!

This is a common complaint with all russian rifles like the SKS, Mosin Nagant and the SVT. With my SKS i have a 1" spacer "recoil pad" that really doesn't do anything noticable to the recoil for an sks, but it makes it much more comfortable to use.
I haven't tried it yet, but the Small size Limbsaver slip on recoil pad is supposed to fit the SVT and Mosin Nagants to extend the length of pull to a more reasonable length. I have seen some solid rubber ones that replace or go over the metal butt plate on the mosins, but i have yet to see anything specifically for the SVT.

I knew you would. LOL

I had mine out to the range just last Saturday and had tons of fun !!

A slide-on recoil pad seems like a good solution.

As it is currently winter in Fortress North (aka Canada) and I was wearing a fleece AND a winter coat when I went shooting, I won't notice if I have a problem with my SVT-40's LoP until things warm up and I can shed a couple layers !! LOL
