Svt40 stuff

svt40 can use a mosin sling, but i think there was a sling made specificaly for it. It is a little longer and wider ppsh sling.
 
get the ppsh sling from libertytree colectors they are the same as the svt40 sling or you could us the moison sling they are cheaper and seem to be every where now a days
 
Anyplace in canada for slings that u know of ? I didnt realize the bayonet is a bt pricey thats forsure can get the rifle for about the same price wow thx for any info
 
Numrich has SVT40 slings. I got two from them last year. No mine are not for sale.

If your rifle has the stock with the slot in it, you will still need to get a dog collar.
 
yes i have ordered a couple of the ppsh slings from them for my SVT40 there was no problem shiping wasent bad cant remember exactly the amount but i tought it was reasonable but like CDN303 said if you have the but stock with the hole in it you will need the dog collar type sling not the ppsh type
 
Mine has no hole just steel swivel in frnt and steel ring in the rear so il try numrich for the sling r yours leather or canvas?
 
Can u explain i know there a little shorter and thinner aswell anything else i may get one to use for now untill i can find another i would really like the early leather one but goood luck
 
go to the libertytree collector site look under slings you will see the ppsh m44 slings with leather straps and web sling or they also have it in all leather as well,these slings will fit your svt 40.I have an original svt 40 sling and there is no difference only the colour of the canvas webing
 
The only hiccup of ordering parts from Numrich is that they charge a $25 fee for international orders. Thus you will probably want to order a bunch of stuff to make it worth while.

here are 3 slings i have. There is a lot of variations on each models depending on when and where produced (leather, metal, pigskin, canava, etc...). canava mosin on top, ersatz ppsh (no metal used) and ersatz svt40 i think (a little longer and wider than the ppsh). The svt sling has a strange blue color?

Colour is fine. They were of different colours. I'm not that sure about erzatz slings, I can assume that SVT erzatzs were wider and longer like one on your pic. However I haven't clarified erzatz subject yet for myself.

Great post.
My SVT came with a Mosin "double dog-collar" sling, and although it works in a pinch, it's more of a double dog's breakfast...it "kinks" at an odd and twisted angle.
The dog collars are for stocks with slots...some navy stocks, (single dog collar), AVTs etc...NOT the standard SVT-40.

You're bottom sling is, as you say, correct for most standard models...or at least for mine.
