Svt40 stuff

To Erkner,
You are totally wrong there was never 30000 svt 40 in Polish service. The number in Polish service to be precise was under 11400 units as late as 1989, they were brought to poland by 1st Polish army that was organized in the Soviet Union. Most of them were refurbished in the 50s and given to army schools and kept for emergency needs. All Polish held svt 40 were disposed "scraped" after 1989 some ending up with German surplus dealers in mid-90s. The figure of 30000 you are referring to is the number of rifles refurbished and completed in Poland in the mid 50s for export to some middle eastern country. That country was never mentioned in the article on svt 40s published in polish military magazine "strzal". That information is still classified but the author mentioned either Egypt as recipient or clandestine supply to Polish Jews through port of Haifa in early 50s. It was still the 50s and Israel was supported by Polish communists at least under the table.

To Horilka
Polish pouches are not modelled after war time svt 40 pouch but after early issue svt 40 leather pouch. I'm assuming that you must be Ukrainian so you can read Polish 100% please try to read if you can find it article in the magazine "strzal" that is about history of svt 40s or SWT 40 in Polish service, it is about 9 pages long with lots of photos and few modernization projects. Title of the article is "SWT 40 w ludowym wojsku polskim"
