An LGS manager told me Monday that there is a good possibility of Russia being able to ship surplus gear again soon! Fingers crossed, hope that will bring more SVT into Canada before Sunny ways gets a chance to take them!!

I love LGS gossips. I hear a lot of stuff too.
Here are couple of facts to make gossips more entertaining:
- Most SVT-40s (and generally most of Soviet surplus) came to Canada from Ukraine, not from Russia. And Canadian importers can (if they want) to bring more. Economical or business considerations aside. They legally can do this.
- There are very recent imports of surplus from Russia. SKSs and MN snipers for example. All marked and documented as "hunting weapon" not because of some mysterious reasons, but because with Russian laws it's easier to export "hunting weapon" rather than "military weapon". So what's to resume if nothing stopped?
I guess no point of keeping fingers crossed...
