Hey everyone,
Just picked up a SVT recently. Wasnt going to buy it but I noticed the mag is stamped matching to the rifle.
The rifle is obviously a refurb with EP bolt and trigger group but has a stamped matching mag. Ive never seen that before. Was wondering if anyone has seen this?

Very nice find.

I was happy because I have one with an electo penciled matching magazine, but stamped is 10x better!!!

Don't mean to hijack, but I haven't seen many threads for this rifle. I have one en route as part of a Marstar package deal, and I know absolutely nothing about them other than what I have read via Wikipedia. Are these rifles worth anything? Popular? Is there much of a following, or should I just sell it & the case of ammo?

There are tons of threads on the SVT in the Red Rifles section.

For a quick primer though, I recommend you read this...

Have mine, and I love it. I'm definitely going to buy another eventually....
I have a link for a decent PDF as well...just need to find it.

Edit: Found it.

I find this gives a bit of an "authentic" feel, even if the quality is terrible in some parts. With that said, youtube has lots of good videos for disassembly and reassembly. There's also some good information here in the Red Rifles thread you just gotta find it.

Nice find!

To the poster asking about the SVT40. Lots of us collect them. I have one non refurb SKS and six SVT40. The SVT is a cool firearm. 30 cal, semi with adjustable gas block, detachable mag and muzzle brake. Fun to shoot. Nice looking rifle, a piece of history and for the price....

Congrats on the awesome find.

Cannon, the svt 40 is a beauty rifle and definitely worth having especially at the minimal price we pay. Feel bad as mine hasn't been out for a while but it's so hard to make them all happy as one can only shoot so much.

I suspect it's refurb mag stamping, but need to look in The Book to check. Anyway it's very cool to have matching stamped mag. Never found a time to see if any mag matches to any rifle in my collection, may be I'll be lucky too?

Ok, I checked The Book and only serial stamping with no letter prefix was spotted on replacement magazines and on one 1944 issued rifle. Normally mag should have letter prefix, serial and mag number from 1 to 3.
