SVT40s

Bet they don't have a Sept 1941 Podolsk with no rail........

I have examples from each manufacturer and the machining on the podolsk rifles does look more refined with my Izzy having the roughest milling.

I'm holding onto my SVT's for a few more years. They are such nice rifles to shoot, light recoil (compared to the mosin) quiet for you and deafening to your neighbors on the range, accurate within 4" fairly consistently.

The story of the first round cold bore "Flyer" is very true. Sometimes its several inches away from the group, sometimes it doesn't hit paper.

It's actually more about setting the receiver in the stock bed and changing its position during next mag loading. With proper stock fitting or with loading from the top there should be no flyers. Of course I'm talking about original condition rifle, with refurbs there are couple of additional things that could potentially contribute to flyer.

SVT for 695+tax will be 780+shipping will end at your door for 800$ for a run of the mill SVT. For 800$ shipped a SVT will stay forever on EE. People are willing to pay any price to a dealer look like.

I like being the "first owner" of a gun and cleaning off the cosmo. It saves me from worrying about what the previous owner has done to the gun, but I hate paying tax on a gun from a dealer. The price seems fair and then you add tax and it seems like you're over paying for it.
