SVTs arrived with some damage from Lever arms.. just normal or?

The site sponsor with these also ships them with a hard case as well as a sling I do believe.

I'm curious how Lever's SVT-40's look compared to other sources. I was in Lever and all the SVT's in the showcase had obvious stock repairs and scratches on that particular day. That may be normal as I haven't seen many SVT's in person, but I can tell you that Lever has the ugliest SKS rifles around and for a measly $40 more, you can find much nicer looking SKS's.
 
Marstar. Looks like I was wrong about the sling, but you do get hardcases. Look under the Christmas specials .... only thing is the special is being sold in pairs.
 
i spoke with lever today (they never did email me back i had to call, twice).
The first person said they would make sure someone got back to my email asap, 24 hours later still nothing.
The second person told me (a little too quickly) that they had made changes and were packing extra well now, so my issue should not happen again.. without really hearing what my issue was other than "poorly packaged". He was very nice though and assured me if i trusted them with my business again I would be happy with the result. I'm considering getting another 2 SVTs off them on special and an SKS since I jsut sold mine.
 
I'm happy w the way it was shipped and the condition of the rifle. Very happy w the rifle. Might be worth the $25 for a hand picked if you want scope rails.

They actually asked you to buy stuff from them again without any say on the rifles that were damaged? What a bunch of clowns.

Times two, this ^ You just bought four rifles, seems to me obvious to pad them from each other.

I think Lever should be contacted and see if they've got a replacement stock to fix the issue. If not, no surprises...?
 
Get a crate full and you won't have to worry.

well, i was assured that they wont repeat the issue, and that it was a result of hiring temporary help for packing and shipping... (sure hope none of the incompetent temps are hand selecting rifles that they charge a fee for).
No deals, just apologies and assurances.

I ordered another 2 SVTs... no more SKS's tho, that stupid refurb paint issue is just too much for me so i'll buy a real numbers matching unit.


I dunno, I think they're doing so much volume they just dont/cant care right now but overall its been good.

Need better quality control is all... during these busy times.

No surprises... but I don't feel too bad about it.

I sold the scratched one to a friend for $100 more than I paid for it. (he really didnt want to strip it down and steam clean the cosmoline out of it.. so i spent the evening cleaning and treating it... then give it to him ready to go.)
 
Received my svt 40 today from Lever. The packing was well done, no issues here. After reading all the comments, I was worried.

Other people have also received them well packed recently. Looks like they have addressed the issue.
 
Hmmm.... Well, I'm thinking of ordering another one, it was totally worth it. Should have ordered 2 right of the bat.

Mine showed up around lunch today . Packing was top notch , no damage . Canada Post were right on with the updated shipping and instead of 12/31 it said it should be delivered 12/30 . No problems whatsoever and a big thumbs-up to Lever Arms and Canada Post .
.
However , as Bubbles would say , " She's really f%#king greasy " .
