I ran across a from what I can tell is a pre model 10. 1956 vintage. 38 s&w special. At a pawn shop. 5"

Used but in decent shape with original box. No case. A cleaning brush and a rod.

Yeah, there used to be all kinds of 4" light & heavy barrel square butt & 2" snubbie round butt Model 10's around for cheap.

I was at Depot in Regina in training in 1995-96 and the changeover was taking place at that time. Maybe yours was from another force. RCMP kept a few and melted the rest down. I talked to one of the guys from stores one day after lunch. He told me they were getting revolvers ready to put in barrels and take them out to IPSCO (steel plant) north of Regina. A lot of nice old revolvers were destroyed. Talk about moronic government waste.

Old S&W K Frame revolvers could be bought at around $300 - $400 about 10 years back, used or from estate sales. These days I don't see them very often.
