SW MP 15 22 - No Longer Available?

Hi All

Second time trying to post this- so apologies if it shows up twice (or if this is in the wrong forum -seems like the correct one, but..)

I'm getting my Pal/Rpal in late January, been planning it for a bit, and having looked at several different .22's for my first gun, had decided on the S&W MP 15 22. It seems to have a good reputation for reliability, a lot of customization options, huge fun factor (according to pretty much every review I read) and of course it looks cool.

It will still be a month or two before I can actually buy it of course, but I was just looking at websites today, and it seems most of them either don't have it listed, have it listed as "no longer available" (Cabelas) or have it on sale.

Has it been discontinued in Canada? Am I missing something (again brand new to this, actually I'm not even brand new, I'm pre brand new until I get the Rpal..) It just seemed to be a really popular rifle, looks like it's still available from stores in the US, so I'm curious as to why no one seems to have it (or be expecting it in) here. Really just wondering if it will be likely I'll be able to buy one come February/March, or if I should consider something else?

No big retailer is going to order a rifle that is on the liberal ban list

And Thanks! I'll bookmark those, hopefully they'll still have one come Feb/March
