I was lucky enough to be invited to go out this morning with a local group of coyote houndsmen. When I left at 1pm they had four already and were closing in on a fifth! One of them was a nice little "black" but it had some mange starting that ruined the pelts value. I managed to get one that everyone agreed was a very large male. I didnt have a scale, but he felt like he was over 60 lbs. It was a great morning to be out

Good shooting big guy, thats a nice yote you should have mentioned your size for comparison. That's gotta be 5'+long, any way it was a perfect day to be out. Congrats

Good shooting. Got a quick questions though, aren't you worried about that mange jumping ship onto that dog?

It isn't my dog in the picture and the owner didn't seem concerned at all. I know I wouldn't let my wirehair anywhere near a dead coyote though for that reason. FWIW, the coyote in the picture was not showing any sign of mange and was healthy as a horse.

and...if anyone was wondering...I am 6' 230lbs...
nice try stogie...:kickInTheNuts:

nice shooting and thats a MASSIVE yote. We were out yesturday with the dogs. We had 4 dogs, 8 guys and noone managed to get a shot off. I seen 2 coyots but they both ran onto a 10 acre horse farm that we arent aloud to hunt on. I had them both stopped at 100 yards broadside and they had to know we couldnt shoot them. Altogether 5 coyotes were seen but they all got away :(
