Yeah.. I know. We've been planning a trip to florida in 2014 (disneyland) and I was planning on going... I talked to a couple oufitters and the cost was around 2g's for two average gators and a half a day in the boat, but the longer they are the more money they cost. Over 9-10' to 14-15' and the trophy fees go up to another 1500. You have to decide on the boat before you pull the trigger. Then they tan the top skin to hang and they can make you boots, belts, wallets or whatever from your gator, or clean the skull, mount it etc. I was saving and puuuuuuumped for the trip. Then this damn show came on the price has gone through the roof... Last I checked, it was 4500.00 for the same trip. Good for the gator outfitters, bad for my budget....
.22's are cheap and light, Plus at that range as you see are very effective on gators imagine swinging your 30-06 over the side of a boat. Great show!! Pistols would be great but I lknow I would not want someone slinging a pistol around with a 5 inch barrel trying to hit a moving object just inches away from my hands. Shorter barrel easier chance of lazing your partner. With .22 rifles they can reach right over.

Always wondered if it was a hummer or a 22mag.
Have seen them use other than 22 but I guess the "kill spot" is the size of a quarter and bigger bullets cause shrapnel... Tommy shot one last year and Joe ended up having to pick the shrapnel out oof his lip...lol...

Speaking of shows: Can`t remember the name of it, but its a crew of people competing against each other with firearms. I`ve been watching to see if it is coming up anytime soon!
