Swap out safety switch on Mossberg 590 A1?

So I got a Vang Comp oversized safety for my 590A1, but the screw holding the old safety on the gun is some kind of weird, non-standard thing, and I have no idea how to take it off. Does anybody know about this?

It's one of those non-reversable screws. You need to take a hacksaw and cut a slightly deeper slot so a flat blade screwdriver will fit, and allow it to be backed out.

I always punch them and drill them out

Thanks folks. I'll try the strength-and-ignorance method, and if that doesn't work, I'll break out the Dremel.

Later: Well, strength and ignorance got the screw out [thanks madashell!] but it got me into trouble in other ways. Who knew that changing a button would be so complex?
