Swaping 2 mosin bolts safe?

i dont think, you have to check with a go-no go to be sure they have the same spec , that could be dangerous to have a out of spec bolts on the mosins ,

I do it. Fire the first shot away from your noggin. One of my mosins shoot better with a different bolt.

You can safely change the bolt body. That is everything except the bolt head. The bolt head comes of easily. If you put rifle A's bolt head in rifle B you may have headspace issues.

I have a 43 and 42 mosin. Ones bolt is sticky the other is not. Can I simply swap the whole bolt out since there both re arsenal.

Yes, as long as the bolt closes easily on a live rd. Mosins lock up like a bank vault. If you don't believe me watch iraqveteran 8888 on youtube shoot 30-30 out of a mosin.

This. AFAIK the Mosin design is similar to the Enfield in that they used different bolt heads to achieve proper headspace. Keep the bolt head with the rifle and you can swap all the other bolt parts out to your heart's content. Checking firing pin protrusion with the go/no go gauge on the Mosin multitool might not be a bad plan.

Strip the bolt and polish the crap out of it...I had the same issue with an M44...stripped the bolt..buffed and polished it...and that made it decent...it's worth a try...
