Swapping out ambi safety for standard safety on Norc Police model....

Has anyone figured out if you can swap out the ambi safety for a standard thumb safety on the Norinco Police model and end up with it looking normal? ie no extra holes etc?

I would really, really, like to find this out, but have not had any luck so far. I don't have my gun here right now to check, it is being tuned.

Even after looking it up on the internet, I still do not understand why a right handed shooter would even want an ambi safety. Just doesn't make sense to me lol.

I get it for lefties lol but not for righties. I still think, for righties, should your right hand be disabled, that having only one of 3 controls on the left side (especially the safety) a bit pointless. That may just be ignorance on my part. Usually I am all for tactical/practical upgrades, but for myself the jury is still out on the ambi safety as I have yet to shoot a gun equipped with one.
