Gents:

Is there a trick to driving out the pin that holds the firing pin in the bolt? I've tried gentle tapping, less gentle tapping, pretty substantial smacks with bigger hammers, pressing the pin out using a vise, bad language in both offical languages (plus a couple others), watched the necessary youtube videos, and the damned pin isn't moving.

I'm trying to drive it through from the top, with a void beneath so it has somewhere to go. Nothing.

Am I missing something? Or is this just a "hit it harder" solution and I'm being too gentle?

Its a tapered pin that is in there VERY tight. I have to put my punch block on my concrete floor, use the biggest punch that will fit, and a large hammer to beat it out. The pin comes out of the bottom so you are correct in attacking it from the top. I've done half a dozen over the past few weeks
