Stopped in at Cabelas in Edmonton on Saturday to pick up some arrows, while in the big city. (The archery store I wanted to go to was closed for the weekend.)
As always, got to walk past the rifle racks and optics counters just to see what they have and what might be on sale.
Had to stop and back up for a double take on the Swarovski 65 HD spotting scopes...the STS was $1500 off and the ATS was $1000 off!
Brought home a STS Kit with the 20-60x eyepiece. New in box. They had 4 in stock.

Been my fault...I should have bought one years ago, but always had one more rifle, scope, or custom build on the priority list.
Should have bought one when they were $2700. Then the price went to $3200. But I bought a pair of Leica RF binos when they were on sale for a demo, that was about $1500 less than the Swaro EL RFs. Good purchase, as I use them all the time!
Then the price jumped to well over $4000!
Been watching for a used one for a while, but even they mostly go for $3500 or thereabouts. Was resigning myself to not getting a Swaro, but buying the Leupold, as I hadn't even seen them come on sale, even on Black Friday.
I like to support the LGSs, but hard to pass up when you can save that much at the big store, and I saved on the BC provincial tax too, for a total close to $1,900.
