The daughter and I went out on Saturday with the milsurps.
She had her bubba`d K-98 with SSR and vintage Kahles and I with my matching 1903 Carl Gustaff 6.5 X 55 long rifle.
She didn`t get the angle for the shot but no-one here wants to see a pic of me.
And being that it`s a Boone & Crockpot deer, it`s showing off the rifle and her; not the deer LOL.

Used Hornady factory loads and it dropped like a wet towel, about 100 yd`s. Straight on chest shot, the bullet deflected upward after hitting.
Big old rifle was very sedate recoiling and little volume as far as report.

Very nice. How nice that the pretty young lady still likes to go hunting with her father. I have a 3 and half year old daughter who was very happy with my buck this year. I only hope she still wants to spend time with her old man when she's older.

I love Swedes so I think it's great that you take yours hunting. I have a M96/38 that I just got that I have to tune up a bit before it hits the hunting trails. It's been re-stocked and it was done poorly so it needs a bit of TLC before next season.

Nice deer, nice rifle, nice smile, all in one photo!

Can she COOK? (At my age, that's important!)

Venison steaks, venison stew, venison sausage....... coming up!

BTW, great shooting, Old-timer!

LOL!

Always AWESOME to see a young lady out participating in the shooting sports! Way to go guys! Congratulations!

Cheers
Jay

I bet the action on the Swede was much smoother than that of the bubba'ed K98.......:yingyang:....I'm sure she'll come-over to the "dark-side" of Swede-mauser goodness !.......

By the way  , cool picture - your daughter is one person who makes camo look classy !

I'm not telling her that, her head is big enough already.
And she's a kid, still impressed by the glass and nazi eagles on the bolt ( that's a dig by at you Mauser afficiando's the way ). Her's is a 1914 scrubbed Danzig K98 with a WW2 unscrubbed bolt.
The superior finish and better cartridge of the M96 can't compare to glass and the markings of the evil empire on the K98
