I've become interested in the swede nagants, specifically the cartridge conversions.

I know they were converted to .22 LR. I've read this was done by an American importer in the 1950's. A friend told me some of these were also done as Swedish trainers, can anybody confirm this?

I've also read about a Swedish gun smith converting these to .32ACP... I'd like confirmation on this also.

Does anybody in Canada have one of the converted guns?

How were the conversions done?

On the rimfires was the firing pin relocated?

In the case of .32 acp was it fitted with a new cylinder or reamed and sleeved?

I'm interested in pictures and any info that's out there. Thanks guys!

Barrel usually gets sleeved as well as chambers. Firing pin gets replaced with bent downwards one and hole is relocated in the frame to the level of the rim of 22lr. In 1930s many m1985's were remade in to trainers for Voroshilov shooter movement, in soviet union. As for 1887 or 1882 have not seen any as these probably as rare as hens teeth, but may be some are out there.

Awesome. Thanks for the info... have you seen any pictures floating around the World Wide Web?

I read only about. 22 Swedish army conversion into trainers. But I suppose there were some commercial conversions there and here.
Interesting... most info I've read seems to point towards an American importer.

Anybody know anything about the .32acp conversions?
