Hello Gentlemen!

I have a little situation that perhaps we can all work on together. I have a Swedish M-94 that has had a stock sporter job done to it. However, the metal and bolt are all intact and matching. It is an 1898 rifle with a very low serial number. I want desperately to restore it, but have come accross one huge snag. No one seems to have an M-94 or M-94/15 stock set anywhere in Canada! I am thus asking here. I am willing to pay a fair price for one if someone happens to have one. I know there are alot of members here, and I really REALLY would like to entertain a Canadian transaction before investigating the USA market, as importation can be quite a hassle, even for some lumber and bands.

I would be happy to also offer a complete set of pictures and range reports, once I have them, of the Swede once she has been restored, to the person who sells me the stock set.

This is a chance of my young life to bring back to originality, a real piece of pre-1900 history. Just think, the FIRST year production at Carl Gustavs Gevarsfaktori, the carbine within the first 1600 ever produced from that great factory! And YOU might be able to help me restore her to her former glory!

I am also interested in learning all I can of this arm, so if anyone knows anything about they they wish to share, please post here!

Yours Sincerely,
Drachenblut

They used to ship over the wire, but who knows, they may have stop.

But still, you will need all the iron that goes along with the wood set.

BTW, according to CG archives, there was 6 234 M/64 made there in 1898, but there was only ONE made in 1899.

If you want infos about the Swedish Mausers, then, you will have to purchase "The Crown Jewels" by Dana Jones ISBN 0-88935-283-6

Callum, I would love to look elsewhere, but where should I look? Do you know any websites, or forums where I could ask for that? What about Canada's importation laws, are stocks not exempt? I would love to find a stock somewhere soon.

Have you tried posting in the Scandinavian forums on Gunboards? Someone might be able to help there. Good luck with your conversion - post pics of the progress please.

Steppenwolf,

He is looking for M/94 (Carbine)...

As for having military stock shipped from a particular from the states... well, most won't do... There are some on GB but I agree finding a set overseas (like, in Sweden) would be much easier...

Yes, once again. Are there any contacts anyone knows where I could get one from Sweden? Is Carl Gustav's factory still in operation? Who would I contact to get a stock set? Just curious if anyone knows any good websights.

You might try posting this in the appropriate forums on Milsurp.com. Other 'boards as well.

You COULD have it shipped to a US address and then arrange export from there. Maybe your US address friend is willing to sell it to you for under $100 and is willing to make out a receipt to that effect. Make sure you pay taxes and duty ;)

I believe wooden rifle stocks under $100 that are not USGI are ITAR and State Dept Form 6 exempt.

Just be careful. I imported a barrel recently from a U.S. private seller and it was under the $100 mark. I went the legal route and secured the proper papers. Even though everything was legit, CBSA still opened and inspected the package.

If they don't like what they see, they have the authority to confiscate the item. I would hate to see that happen to a stock set such as an Swedish M94.
