Swedish Mauser 6.5 x 55

For a hunting load in my T3, I settled on the 130 gr TSX over 46 grs. of IMR 4350. I'm not bench shooter though, and did not try a zillion different combos before settling on that load. I think the 6.5 has a reputation for being fairly easy to feed, and will give reasonable accuracy with a relatively wide selection of loads. I had a sportered Husqvarna before getting the Tikka. I don't recall what I was loading for it, but again, it didn't take a lot of messing around to find something that would serve as an adequate hunting load.

Search on 6.5x55 in this forum, there have been a number of good threads on this calibre. The consensus of them was that RL-22 was about the best with 140gr bullets and both 4831's along with IMR4350 were also very good.

When searching, make sure you go into advanced search and change the time searched to go back a ways, some of these threads were a number of months ago.

CG80...Im guessing that's basically a model Swedish Mauser 96 built into a target gun by the swedes ?

I pushed 140 grain bullets with about 46.5 grains of RL-22 for a M-96 . You can also try MRP is you can get it as the burn rate is basically the same.

That is the book max published by Nosler and Sierra.

Start a few grains lower and tweak from there. Some load this cartridge hotter with modern actions.
