Swedish Mauser book - Crown Jewels - New Publication

To be really useful I do think it needs to be paired up with the affordable paperback: The Swedish Mauser Rifles (For Collectors Only) by Kehaya and Poyer, North Cape Publications, in order to provide a more definitive study of the Swede. There is plenty wrong (and right) with both books, but they complement each other.

My sister and niece got me the Crown Jewels book for my birthday (the 17th. if anybody else would like to get me a present) and now I also have both books, and I agree they compliment each other.
My only consern with the Crown Jewels book is the paper it's printed on. It's that really thin almost glossy paper almost like the old fax paper. Just seems a little light duty and cheap.

Im no publishing expert, but it does seem like paper has changed over the years. The new paper is plasticy and quite tough. I only have the second edition, but I thought the quality was excellent.

I have to admit to being a little disappointed with "Crown Jewels"...not with its binding, or paper or photos, but with its content...its a very unbalanced book ...and it definitely needs "The Swedish Mauser Rifles (For Collectors Only)" by Kehaya and Poyer to fill in the obvious gaps....there is plenty wrong with that book too (some massive typo/editing problems), but for instance it has extensive coverage of slings and Vasteras sights...both nearly completely ignored in "Crown Jewels". You really need both books.
