my interest does not lie in millitary firearms, so I only have a vague idea as to what this rifle is. I'm looking for help as to what model and a value so that i can place it on the exchange forum. Thanks Glenn

It's a Swedish M38. It's not matching, and has a straight bolt handle (it's not original), where a bent handle is the general rule. The stock looks kind of beat up.

I'd say $200-$250.

BTW - I wouldn't sweat it, but it won't be long before a "Chicken Little" PM's you about the danger of displaying serial numbers.

Too bad one could not use the registry to find the matching bolt and ask the current owner if they want to do a parts swap. I bet it was done after it was imported.

Also according to the disk the bore is a "3"...
(see other post regarding this).

Could still be a good shooter, but due to the mismatched bolt I'd also say around $200-$250.

Nice figure in the stock, too bad it's so rough. Don't see many HVAs with nice wood. It's a 1941,so it could have been built with a straight bolt like the Husqvarna M96. But that is a CG bolt not a HVA one. I'd say the shape it's in $200 would be tops, and you might even have to ship it at that price.
