I have a nice old swedish mauser that is in excellent shape as a sporterized rifle but I would like to revamp it a little bit as it has some headspacing issues and requires some barrel work or a new barrel anyways.
I would like to revamp the bolt shroud as it has a timney trigger and no longer requires the bulky safety and so on. I would like to make the bolt shroud look similar to a Rem 700 and was wondering if you can weld to the bolt shroud without causing heat damage. Or I could just buy a new aftermarket bolt shroud from brownells.
Also, I would like to install a butter knife bolt handle and a full length stock. Anyone have any ideas where to pick up these items.
