Swedish Mauser - To mod or not to mod - advice wanted

Same, that gun is a beauty and i would never sporterize it as there are a bunch of those on the market already while the milsurp supply is slowly decreasing overtime

If a sporting rifle is what you want, I'll bet you can find someone willing to take your military configuration rifle and trade you another rifle that has already been converted. Save yourself the cost and time of parts/work. This is what I advised an acquaintance who had a cheaply purchased old surplus Swede and wanted a hunting rifle and he was very pleased with the outcome.

I got one that was modded to have the handle bent down and drilled and tapped for a scope. Since the front is higher than the back I really wish it wasn't. However, yours, since it was already cheap and with a bad stock is a perfect example for mods if you ask me, or you can restore it to it's former glory, either ate great options!

OP is being sparse with info. No mention of d+t work, or mods to the bolt. If it is not d+t'd, and had the original straight bolt, then restoration is very feasible, particularly if the numbers match. This route would actually be cheaper than sporterizing the existing rifle into a workable scoped rifle, and would result in an investment that actually created value rather than a financial loss.
