Took my burlap wrapped mauser to the range. Long story short the burlap on the front on the barrel felt awfull and I took it off when i got home and left only the burlap on the glossy scope. It will made the grove wholes for your fingers slippery. No problem with it slipping of the gun tho. It WILL abit tho. After sighting abit i took it out to 100 yards and hit a decent group. the rail and rings are weaver brand and the scope is a 4x bushnell japan made BLB scope. I was shooting the high end fusion stuff, expensive but happy with the outcome!
